She + Her + Ella

I'm an acupuncturist and herbalist who loves working with folks to achieve their wellness goals. I particularly love treating clients experiencing digestive issues, acute and chronic pain, pregnancy, autoimmune disease, menstrual issues, and fertility concerns.

I fell in love with holistic medicine while in college after being disappointed by certain aspects of the conventional medical system. Being a bigger bodied person, I believe there are limited medical and wellness spaces that feel comfortable for larger folks, and I strive to create a space where every body is welcome. As a Colombian-American, I also aim to provide more access to holistic wellness modalities to the Latine community and offer services in Spanish as well as English.

When I'm not seeing patients, I love to play videogames, experiment in the kitchen, watch K-dramas, and spoil my two kitties.

Veronica Hwang, Yoo Be Korean Skincare

Veronica Hwang, Yoo Be Korean Skincare

She/Her

My name is Yoo Seon Veronica Hwang and I'm your skincare expert. I’m a licensed Esthetician in Oregon and California, ready to take on any challenges and concerns when it comes to your biggest organ - your skin!

I was born and raised in South Korea where I learned many Korean self care practices and rites. It started with a Korean spa with the family then graduated to daily multi-step skincare by the time I was 13 years old. Going to the spa in Korea is still one of my fondest childhood memories. It was where I felt at ease the most.

I also struggled with skin inflammation, acne and chronic autoimmune skin disease. It has been a life long  lesson to understand my own skin and health. This struggle kick-started my interest in skin health, and today it is my joy to share my culture and my expertise with everyone through Yoo Be Korean skincare and wellness.

The Yoo Be Approach to Skincare

Skincare is not just a luxury event once a year, it's a ritual. It goes beyond beauty and vanity, it is a health practice we need to prioritize. I guide each person I work with in their journey to a healthy skin and mind. We don’t hide your skin, but work together to embrace and enhance it.

The products I use for all facials and retails are beautiful plant based and aromatherapy essential oils.

I focus on natural ingredients with a minimal ingredient list. I also believe in cruelty free products and supporting companies that are environmentally conscious.

Growing up in Korea, my family took beauty and health very seriously.  I was detoxing in herbal steam rooms at age 5 years old. In Korea, everyone invests in their skin - women, men, teens, grandparents, even children. We take pride in our self care spa day with the family and I want to share that with all of you. Yoo Be concentrates mostly on the face as well as hands, back, neck, decollete and scalp health.

I believe when we feel good on the outside, we feel good on the inside. Come learn, resolve, decompress and practice self love.

Milo Albright, LMT.

He/Him and They/Them

Milo has a deep and lifelong interest in bodywork and the healing arts, which began at a young age and continues to this day. He utilizes an intuitive and holistic treatment style that draws from many modalities; including craniosacral, structural integration, Swedish massage and visceral manipulation. Treatments are rooted in listening to the body and responding to its moment to moment needs. Milo believes that the journey towards health is not a one-way-fits all road. Instead they use a dynamic and changing toolkit to support whomever comes for treatment, wherever they are at. In this way all are welcome, and no one is left out.

Milo has a passion for supporting people through the injury process from acute to chronic. This includes and is not limited to auto injury, sports injury, post surgical care, and brain injury. They believe somatic and emotional health is just as important as structural health for resolving pain symptoms, and that effective treatment should reflect this.

In his free time Milo can be found doing Kung Fu, reading a book, or wandering in woods looking for a good tree to gander at.

Clara Parnell, LMT

Clara Parnell, LMT

They/them + She/Her

Clara brings together the science of rehabilitation with the sacredness of healing and shifting our energetic patterning. Practicing for more than 15 years, Clara combines a wide range of technical skills and modalities to support clients with chronic pain, tension, and stress. Clara incorporates deep and nuanced energetic shifting in every session. When the body is in physical pain, the mind likes to simplify by focusing on treating it physically. Clara brings in a greater level of integration by addressing more than just the physical body.

Clara is a practitioner with a life long history of deafness and hearing loss, which amplified their other senses. At such a young age, the auditory processing centers of the brain are recruited for alternative sensory processing. This means the brain advances its ability to process visual and tactile information and increases its ability to perceive environmental stimulus that is not auditory. For Clara, hearing loss meant an increase in processing and interpreting information through the hands, visual perception, and mirror neurons(empathy). Clara’s ability to perceive what you are experiencing and intuiting what will bring both release and relief, is heightened.

Clara loves to work with the physical body while addressing energetic release for ancestral healing, bringing in the support and resources of the unseen worlds around us. They have studied visceral manipulation, chi nei tsang, western clinical herbalism, and cranial sacral therapy extensively.

Andi Gherard, LMT

Andi Gherard, LMT

They/Them

Andi first discovered a passion for bodywork as an industrial bread baker. Watching their coworkers develop acute + chronic work injuries fueled their desire to enter the healing field of bodywork and manual therapy. Their experience as a trained sexual assault and domestic violence advocate directly influences their ability to hold space and offer co-regulation for the emotional shifts that can occur when we address and release the tension held in our body.

Andi practices work that braids together clinical western science, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and 5 element theory. Their work includes techniques such as deep tissue, Tui Na, myofascial release, trigger point work, silicone cupping, and Gua Sha.

They/Them

After nearly a decade of interest in the esoteric healing arts, I decided to pursue an education in massage therapy. My unique style of bodywork blends together deep tissue, myofascial and trigger point release, tui na, craniosacral therapy, and reiki.

I believe in a holistic approach to health. Our physical bodies do not fully heal without the simultaneous healing of our mind, heart, and spirit. So often we separate our lives into the mundane and the spiritual. Bridging together these seemingly separate areas of life has been the most powerful catalyst in my own healing journey. Pursuing the healing arts and creating my massage practice is a physical manifestation of bridging this gap in my own life.

I hope to bring to you the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual empowerment that comes from inner union. Only when we fully acknowledge, embrace, and integrate the seemingly contradictory facets of ourselves and our lives do we truly heal. It is an honor and a privilege to be able to provide the space for you to reconnect with your deepest self.

Our bodies know how to heal themselves. I am here to catalyze and witness that process.

She + Her

Hasina's practice is currently closed to new patients. She hopes to re-open in summer of 2023. Please email hasina@openhandhealth.com to get on her waitlist.

Hi! I’m queer, nonbinary, and an eating disorder and brain injury survivor. I’m also hard of hearing and will probably ask you to speak up.

My approach to care work is rooted in three truths: that you know best what is happening for your body; that systems of oppression are real and serve as primary causes of disease; and that medicine (mostly conventional but also many forms of alternative) often participates in marginalization instead of uplifting and strengthening bodies, survival, and ways of knowing/being it doesn't value or recognize.

As your practitioner, I offer my knowledge in service of yours to craft a treatment that supports your agency and pacing. I hold a variety of tools (including insertive and non-insertive acupuncture, East Asian herbal medicine, cranial sacral and myofascial release therapies) and will partner with you in finding an approach that allows your nervous system to feel at ease.

Beyond clinical practice, I love visiting favorite swimming holes with my partner, chasing our two orange cats out of the garden, and paying attention to things I see and feel outside. (Did you know that you can find egg sized agates all over the city? They make quite a journey from ocean to river to our streets).

Hasina can accept Providence, Regence/BCBS, and Pacific Source insurance.
